#75226, "How much damage to my unibody?"
Jul-22-04 01:38 PM by burntheblobs

I want to know if there is anything I can do to check for myself how much damage there is to my unibody. I ran over curbs on the right front and back of the car. I have a bent rear axle, and a front lower ball joint that has play. The car pulls to the right badly. It has a thrust angle. All alignment numbers are shitty. The hood seems to be about 1mm to the left of center (looking from the back of the car). The headlights make a little clunk noise when they go up now, but they still go up and down (This is a 1990 1g btw). When taking a right turn onto a hill, the right back side of the car creaks (sounds like near where the two side windows meet). And when my subwoofers are hitting hard that same area will rattle. I have included the alignment printout below. As you can see its really FUBAR at this point. I can also tell you that on the right side, the tires stick out at the top about half an inch and on the left side the top of the tires almost go in to the wheel wells. Questions for you:

1. How can I check for the amount of unibody damage without paying a frame shop?

2. Will I be able to fix the rear axle and ball joint and have my suspension be the same?

3. Can I fix the frame myself?
