My hatch is starting to rust. I am getting very small spots on the outide where both the "Mitsubishi" and "GS" stickers are. When I lift it up I can see much more on the underside. Can the outside be sanded/prepped and painted or is it just eventually going to rust to all hell?

well, in order for rust not to come back, you have to sand/grind all the way through it. so if it's already rusted through from top to bottom, i'd say you will need a new hatch.

dont quote me on this, but im pretty sure that our cars have a 10 year rust warranty, take that shit to satan! only way to fix rust is to sand/grind through it, so if its rusted through you'd either need a new hatch or to weld in some more metal

If it is rusted through satan should take care of it. But if it is surface rust they won't care.

The only way to know for sure it to goto satan and ask them. But I would goto 2-3 dealers and ask. Some dealers are just asses!

Thanks for the replies guys. I'll take it to satan when I have a day off and see what they say. If they give me trouble I'll say "Hey, you fix-a my car or I break-a you face."
