#73515, "New Projector Install gone Bad??? HI BEAM LIGHT ALWAYS ON"
Well I just bought these projectors off ebay They come with 2 harness plugs, one for the high beam and one for the low. However our stock headlights only have one harness plug. Observing the stock harness there are 3 connections inside. Im guessing a ground, low beam, high beam connection. I pulled back the wire loom and the wire colors are black (ground) red, then red w/ blue stripe. I get my dads old ass multimeter thats about the size of a small VCR lol and I check the 2 red wires to see which one is gettin any voltage while i had the lights turned on inside. The both received voltage...so I was like okkkk? So I just took a guess and spliced the low beam into the red w/ blue stripe and the high beam into the red.
Ok so the low beam comes on but the high beam doesnt. However...looking inside in the cluster the blue high beam light is always on no matter what. it only goes off when all the lights are turn off. If you turn on the low beams the blue high beam light is on in the cluster. and If you try to actually turn on the high beams outside, they will not come on.
I was searching the forum and 2 other people are havng the problem with no luck. However reading really really old post somone mention gettin the stock harness or somethng liek that off the headlights and using that?? Could someone explain something to me?

Ya think maybe one of those wires is for power to the corner lights? Maybe that's why it is staying on. I would disconnect everything and then test whish wires have juice with the Low Beams on then with the High beams on. Maybe the ground for the lights has something to do with one of the mounting bolts.

They arent the corner lenses they work fine and have there own harness. Ive tried seeing what wires get voltage when the low beams are on and both wires get em.

hey bro. yeah i was one of those guys that purchased those lights. ur gonna love them. i do. but heres the prob. YES! they did make it so u gotta cut the plugs and splice but heres where mitsubishi funked up. On your NEW headlights u have a black for each high and low(ground) then a high(red i believe it was) and low (blue?) well anyways heres where mitsubishi messed up. on the stock harness u have red, black, and red/blue. correct? (mine did anyways) well their black isnt ground, its actually the low beam, red/blue was the ground. so try wireing it up that way and voila! ur set. i ran an extra cable through the fire wall and connected the halo's on their own seperate switch.... however u can splice into ur side markers if thats easier for u. any other questions feel free to ask, i just finished installing mine proly 2-3weeks ago. aiming however is a bitch hehe
