anyone know if there's any kinda warranty with the manufacturer or bruce's speed shop? i know other people had problems exchanging kits that didn't work out of the box so i kinda doubt they'd cover mine after a year...

otherwise anyone know where to look for and what to look for in getting a replacement ballast? are other brands interchangeable? not sure how the whole HID system works... and how much am i looking at spending?

these are ballasts with built in ignitors btw. Hanabi 8000k 9006 bulb kit. and yes i verified that it IS the ballast and not the bulb or my headlight wiring that's dead.

*edit*
and can anyone access the hanabi website?
www.hanabiusa.com
say's i'm restriced access for some reason... (i'm at home)

Good luck, They wouldnt honor mine 1 month after the purchase. Same thing ballasts. Even with the receipt they will give you the run around.

Im going to try another balast. It should work with the connectors being similar.

Sorry to hear that, Marc. Remember when I bought mine, and I was missing most of the wiring harness? They gave me the run around until I told them to take it back or I would reverse the charge on my credit card. They finally sent out a return ticket. I'm extremely happy with the kit I got from Polarion. It cost almost twice as much, but as they say - you get what you paid for. I can't access the hanabi site, either. When Bruce's gave me their (hanabi's distributor) number, it was disconnected. Shady, IMO.

I would think HID=HID. What matters is the bulb base (DS2 vs. converted, i.e. 9005, 9006, etc), but I would imagine the connectors being the same.

hmm anyone know if the output on ballasts are pretty standard? so it's the bulb that determines color and everything then?

do all of the current ones come with built in ignitors? i know before there used to be a lot that had the ignitors separate from the ballast...

my ballasts have 4 wires. 2 from the stock bulb plug for power and 2 going the the actual HID bulb. idk how standard the connections are. the ones from the stock plug to the ballasts are just regular butt connectors. the ones to the actual bulb are these funky looking plastic male/female type clips. i imagine they're very heavy duty b/c that's a shitload of voltage they hafta handle. they're made so you can't connect it the wrong way to the bulb too...

*edit*
blah so should i be sportin a single HID or revert back to my hiper-white HID wannabe's?

Does your kit look similar to this one? Hid ballasts are very interchangeable, you can use a Philips/Hella ballast with Korean HID bulbs and vice versa.

yes very much so. there's all the wiring harnesses and crap but essentially the input to the ballast comes directly from the stock bulb socket (two wires) and the output goes direct to the HID bulb (two heavy duty wires). does anyone know if i need to check specific output voltages and whatnot or are HID ballast universal in that respect? i figure if the harneses are slightly different it shouldn't be too much of a problem splicing them an stuff...

HID color an stuff is pretty much determined exclusively by the bulbs - not the ballasts, right?

it would so totally suck to replace the ballast and have the lights not match emoji
