#71384, "Buying a new car..need opinion/input"

Im getting a 97 RS on wednesday, Kapalana Black, 18 inch Motegi CDR9's, Greddy EVO, Tanabe lowering springs, and projector headlights..but the car has rear quarter panel damage. Now, i have access to a good rear quarter panel, and i have someone to do the work for me. My questions are...
Should i shave the stock spoiler holes in order to add a turbo spoiler later?
What kind of paint to i get..i was thinking about the stock black with a metal flake?
Shave the door handles?(the car is auto and will not be raced at a track)
Carbon Fiber Lip..rsdsm?
What else can i do and what are the possibilities..granted id like to keep it semi stock looking.

If you like the shaved look, might as well go ahead and shave the handles. I'd also go ahead and shave the wing holes for the turbo spoiler, but I would skip the cf lip, I really don't like how it looks on black. Carbon fiber just doesn't stand out enough on black. Now, if you were going to have the lip painted with the rest of the car, that would be hotter than hell =).

I would definately shave the wing holes if I were you. It will make things much easier later on when you put a turbo wing on. I think the shaved door handles would look good also. As for the front lip, I would get it in carbon fiber. I think carbon fiber looks best on black.

Here's a pic of a carbon fiber front lip on my black IS3.

agreed....cf on black is pure hotness. Stick with a shaved OEM body, high wing, and paint the rear center piece IMO. Other tehn that it sounds like its already a sweet ass car. emoji

yup, getting all that for 1250!

I like the idea of carbon fiber on black, im also going to look into a nice hood, the one on the car needs a little paint work. This is just a car to get me around for the time being, end of the summer means new look. Prices im looking at so far...

Paint- 1000 give or take
Body work- 500-700 depending on who's doing it
rsdsm lip- 150ish
Turbo Spoiler- 150ish
Side skirts- 150ish
Carbon Fiber hood- 400ish
So, 2500 bucks and i should be set...gotta get some overtime now
