Hey all, I'm gonna have to take off my Powered side view mirrors and 3-piece factory spoiler for painting my car soon. Anyone have an idea of what I need to do in order to take both of them off? Thanks...
Also, you guys think I should shave the holes from the factory wing? I'm a little too lazy to do all the work, so I'm thinking of just putting the factory spoiler back on...actually, it's mainly because I don't have time to do much work...

I say get rid of the wing, but i understand it is a lot of un needed work because it looks good with or without the wing. When you getting it painted? I want to see it.

My goal is to have it painted before the middle of August. I still need to fix my fender, fix the door dings, sand down the whole insides and outsides, and it has to go into the paint booth on two separate weekends. First to paint the insides, then second to do the outsides. If you ever wanna help out on a weekend, let me know. I'd appreciate it. Its so tempting to do a lot of other stuff (like shave the door caps, z3 fenders, m3 mirrors) but I really want to try not to fall into that trap hehe...

Warning if you do have your spoiler taken off and weld the holes on the hatch. REMOVE THE GLASS the heat from the arc welding will shatter it. Seen it done once and also heard from another source.

Dont most places take off the trunk lid anyway before they paint or fill in holes?

No I don't think shops would remove the glass from the hatch normally. I've never even heard of it, maybe it was just a couple of freak accidents? I know that we have done it on eclipses without taking out the glass...I think I am going to leave the holes in the hatch piece, and maybe shave off the two side pieces, and get a kaminari wing.
