This is what I plan on doing. As many of you know, my car got into an accident a few months back. I still have the car (insurance won't pay for it, although it was the other guy's fault). I went to the junkyard today, and found/bought a rear clip off a Talon. I am planning to do the following (the red line is what I'm going to cut off). Give me some tips or suggestions about this.

Having Problems? Heres my Three step solution to anything 2gnt related. Step 1: Put down everything in your hands. Step 2: Grab a lucky strike, Smoke it. Step 3: Walk to the fridge, double fist some keystone ice, sit down in the shade, drink one beer, finish cigarette, drink other beer, roll a joint, smoke it, walk back to your problem, and in about 5 minutes the solution will come to you. If not. Go here: here

it is a lot of work.....to weld a ful quarter will take you about 30 hours with all the alignment and welding.
If you want to weld that whole corner then what i suggest is the weld in the entire taillight panel and not split it in half like you plan to. The reason being is that if you are not perfect with the alignment then your tailights will show it right away. Another thing to keep in mind is that when welding sheetmetal you dontr weld a contiuous weld. You weld in 1 inch segments alternating from one side to the other. This is because the sheetmetal will warp due to the heat of a contiuous bead. Good luck..this will not be easy. Calling a lawyer to go after the insurance would be far more productive.

Yeah I would say cut the whole rear off, not the way you're doing it. Especially with that curvy red line, that's WAY too much alignment to do and you'd end up with just a fucked up car. Always consider how many dimensions you have to align. If you cut it in quarters you have to worry about right and left, plus depth, if you cut the whole back end as one piece you just have to worry about depth.
