My friend just got fender flares, and they look kinda easy to make. I was wondering what you can use to make molds for custom parts. Ex: Plaster, ceramic, etc... Does anyone know a good way to do this? Thanks

Depends on How much details you want.. and how long you want the mold to last.

for the fender flares. I'd just make a simple mold out of fiberglass, nothing special. Fiberglass mold lasts for quite sometime but It all depends on how much you use it. It's the least expensive way.

If you have some complex shapes, you'd wanna make it out of silicone or urethane and reinforce it with fiberglass. (most companies use really thick silicone or urethane molds, but they get really expensive). it doesn't last that long.

last but not least, carbon fiber, super strong, will last quite a long time, but it is a lil' expensive.

ceramic and plaster, are hard to work with and doesn't give a really good surface quality and are easily breakable.
