Anyways..this weekened was nice and I did my first mods to it.

hell dude, you think your hooked now...wait untill you really start modding it. youll stay broke...your scour your room looking for somethig to sell so you can pay for performance parts. i swear moddings cars is like a drug addiction. nice start...glad you went with performance mods first...instead of rice. seems the first thing most owners do is slap on stickers and wings and all manner of useless crap. keep up the good work emoji

EDIT: get a battery tie down. the last thing you need is your battery jumping around in your engine bay.

Nice touch painting the 2-0L red too. You missed the decimal point there, but I like how that looks. You say you used PVC for your intake? Got any more pictures? I'd like to see your setup. emoji

the 2.0 isnt normally red? lol...cause I didnt do it.

and I dont know if I will ever get a wing...Im sick of seeing them on everything.
Not that wings are bad..just everyone around seems to think that putting a wing on there corsica instantly gives them 50 more hp and then 2 hp for each sticker added.
And acually i was looking around my room for things to sell today so I could buy some stuff for my car.
and DR1665

Basically what I did was take a 3" boot coupling, attached that to the factory part of the intake, then on the otherside attached it to a 3" street 90, then I attached another street 90 to the 90 to get the curve I needed, from there I added about 5" of straight 3" pvc, another boot connector attached to the end of that, then the filter attached to the other end of the boot.
Monday I am going up the street to my friend george's house, the guy is pushing 60 something..but he is a fabricating genious....he is gonna make me a box to go around the air filter down there to keep the rain and what ever off of the filter.
and i gotta say..when I first started my car and heard the intake.....it kinda scared me... lol
I really love the sound of it.

LOL, the first things i noticed about the pic were a) manual trans computer (b) no battery tie down (c) red + battery cover needs to be re-affixed (d) red 2.0 logo.

looking good man! ive heard bad things about PVC intakes though (they relese fumes). i dont think youll have to worry though as its not going to get hot enough to heat the PVC down there. good drawing, i just hope you dont suck any water in there!

BTW, weve got a smart n00b here. emoji

:shhh: i do cocaine :/shhh:

a) manual trans computer
Good or bad?

And the battery thing is just me getting around to it..lol

Now im wondering why the person before me painted just the numbers...

I doubt i am going to have any kind of fume problem, The pvc would have to heat up internally a good bit for it to start putting off fumes..(if thats what you mean). But I figure since its right by one of the fans it will have constant air going over it..so im not really to worried about it..besides...Im gonna be building a new engine soon anyways emoji

rain in itself wont really hurt your car. is when your for instance...drive through a puddle of water or splash alot of water up into your cai. iv gotten into some pretty hellacious downpours and never had a problem...just avoid flooded areas and pot holes filled with water. good thinking on the alum box for a cover....ill be atempting this in the summer when i get home. nice to see a noob who knows a thing or 2 and actually uses his head for something other than a hatrack.

you sir have renewed my faith in noobs...after some of the crap iv read latley i was beginning to lose all faith in them. great to have you here.

i give him the noob of the year award. you win:

acually the guy is talking about making it out of plexiglass...he has some thats about 1/2 - 3/4 of a inch thick...and thinking about it I like the idea, doing it that way i can still see my filter...I just love seeing that thing down there...and i also dont have to worry about it rusting on me like sheet metal would...anyone see anything wrong with using plexiglass? the stuff he wants to use is around bullet proof thickness so I really dont see it breaking.

Thanks for the award..
