Does anyone know if JUST the plastic piece of the inside driver/pass. side door panel that covers the speaker comes off without taking off the whole door panel? Or even if just that piece comes off period even if the whole panel is off? I just need to take that part off for a custom speaker enclosure I wanna do, but dont wanna take off the whole panel. PLEASE HELP! Also, if it does come off either by its self without taking the whole panel off or if i need to take the whole panel off first, how does it come off? thanks guys!

I believe it is all one piece, but I'm probably wrong.

I'm assuming you have gs doors, that bottom piece does not come off without first taking off the entire door panel. The entire door panel is relatively easy to get off though, theres four screws, 2 on the left side in the door jamb, and 2 on the right side in the door jamb, then theres one behind the door handle, which holds in the trim piece you need to remove as well. then theres one in the little "cup" or handle, or whatever you wanna call it that you close your door with, it's supposed to be covered by a little plastic piece, which just pops out w/ a screwdriver, but mine was gone, i got a new one and it popped out randomly and disappeared. then you just pull on the door panel and it'll unsnap from the actual door, while you're doing that make sure you hold it after all the clips have unsnapped, because you'll need to disconnect a wiring harness for your power locks, windows, etc.. those panels you want off are a PITA, mitsu secured them to the door with plastic welds, which need to either be drilled out or, well... broken. I just broke them, but dont do that its stupid. You'd be better off drilling them out. >>insert thing you wanna do to your panel here<< re-attaching that panel then becomes an even bigger pain in the ass. I tried epoxy, didnt work, i tried fiberglass resin, didnt work. so finally i drilled a bunch of holes and used zip ties (i love them) and it's been holding up pretty damn good. a better idea would be since the pieces of the lower panel that hold it to the door panel are hollow, get a thin tube of plastic (like they use to make custom angel eyes) then epoxy that into those holes, put those little rods through the door panel, then get those little round retaining clips that they have to hold it on, that way you can just cut the clipse and pull ur panel right back off if you need to, and just re-attach using new clips.

p.s. dont even think about taking off those speaker grilles unless you dont want to put them back on, they're near impossible to re-attach.

I got an RS and I have to take the door pannels off first. Then I can get to the black speaker mounting plastic thing. Which came off by losening 4 screws. But not sure about the upper models, like GS/GST/GSX...

1995 Eclipse RS

every model requires the complete removal of the door panel. its just 4 screws on the side, one holding that little "cup" where the inside handle is, and the other in the bottom of the hand well. its not that bad. you can have the complete door off in under a minute
