Hey, the right side of my tail lights do not go on when I press on the brakes for some reason. The left side however goes off. Here's the weird thing: WHen my car isn't on, everything looks fine. I step on the brakes and both sides light up. And when I turn on the headlights and/or parking lights the go on too...however, with the car running, the left side does not respond. I was pulled over once and they officer let me off and just told me to fix it. I replaced bulbs, and changed the fuse to see if it made a different but no...I was wondering if my wiring with A/f fuel ratio and water temp gauges have anything to do with it? I use the green with white stripe wire for the lights since I have ultra-lite gauges. So I was wondering if it was interferring with it. Possibly bad grounding points? I dont know...any suggestions would be nice. Thanks.

You've obviously got something tapped into the wrong line in the dash. It sounds like there is a short when you have the engine running. You aren't popping fuses when this happens? The power lines to the cigarette lighter are only live when the car is in the on position. It's all tied together eventually, but you should definitely recheck where you tapped your sources imo. emoji

You might try testing them with the key in the ON vs ACC positions (engine off) to see if that still makes a difference. As in, leave teh motor off and just test it based on key position. The sytems that operate when the engine is running are tied to the key being in the ON position. If they work fine then too, and only fuck up when the engine is actually running, you've got some weird problem that's sounding in need of exorcism.

Heh, funny thing is that I'm not blowing any fuses at all...my friend told me to use a 20 fuse instead of a 10, would that make a difference though? I dont want to try it since I rather hear it from my fellow 2gnt members instead. But if it is something tapped incorrectly in the dash then I should check it out. Any idea which source it could be. I did use the cigarette lighter wire for something but I forgot what (to power...something)...I'll take your advice and proceed with your procedures and see if it'll make a difference, but until then any more opinions or suggestions will be very helpful, thanks.
