#7001, "? about interior painting, theblueghost, maybe you can help"

ok.. i want to paint the int of my car black, white and blue.
i want to paint most of the pieces black with white slash of something on it and other parts blue. i was wondering if anyone knew how i should go at this. could i use any acrylic paint (spary or acual paint) then cover it with clear? do i need to use a certain primer or any at all? how many coats should i do? with the white paint be responsive to black lights and if not could i mix it with some bleach?

also, my friend wants me to help him with his z34, his parts are more plastic.. i was thinking of sanding it to get it a little rough and doing how i would normally with our interior.

also, what is the best technique to painting my carpet black? (i know someone posted on this but i can't find it.)

thanks in advance all!!

I would remove the door panels and paint in stages. When I finally removed my duct tape last night from the taped areas....you got to be careful with that thick of paint. I would tape your "trim" designs last over your thick main coat of paint. Keep taping sections and paint. Let dry completely. I want to do a "50's style accent" in mine, like a 55 bellaire or something...a main red color on the main part, white speaker covers, and a thin 2 inch border of white around all the red, and white door handle piece. I think that would like "smashing", don't you? lol. In that example, I would first paint my red, over all of it. 2 weeks later, I would then tape over around and paint my white now over whats being overlapped....then shoot clear coat over all of it again after that week's worth of painting and removing the tape. I think it will be fine, just be careful and take your time.... emoji
