what up, so far i've painted the two pieces behind the door handle and the middle piece that pops out, not good but working on it, i'm learning. my question is, how do i get the rest of the stuff? i mean like the vents on the doors and dash, the main piece that holds the fog light button, and the one that holds the hazard light button. and anything else, do i have to tape it or can i take them out? and if i have to tape it please go into detail on how to. also the other pieces like the ash tray and cup holder. thanks a lot

Well everything pretty much pops out with a flathead. The door vents what i did was turn them so they faced the door, put the flathead at the top, pryed down and pulled and they came right out. The vents on the side of the dash where the door opens, those pop out easy, you can prolly get them with your fingers. The center vents, you need to take the whole piece out (where the hazards and rear defroster is). When you get the whole piece out there is 4 clips holding the front on. Take the front off and the vents pop out, to get the piece out, there is a cable that runs under the passenger side dash that opens the vents, you need to unhook this (sorry if this takes longer, but i found it easier). When you put the center vents back in, don't just push them in from the front, you hafta take the whole thing out again, otherwise you'll scratch them like i did. The ashtray and cup holder also pop out with a screw driver. Thats about all i've done so far. Except there is 2 little squares under the steering wheel covering 2 bolts. You don't really notice them, but it adds character lol. Hope i helped and didn't confuse ya. Good luck. Open the doors, and you'll see a vent on each side of the dash, you can reach in and pull it right out. Then get behind it to pop out the fog light switch area. I agree, the simplest method would have probably been a flat head screwdriver.

Ok, when i did those vents, i scuffed it a little with steel wool, and hit it with a very thin, almost none coat of primer. Then the color (blue on mine) hold the can about 12 inches away and do just as light coats as the primer, i went all the way around at different angels to get in all the slots and stuff. I did about 10 coats in all, 1 primer and 9 actual color, and i let them dry for about 1-1 1/2 hours between coats. Good luck. well if it has runs in it, still learning, should i take the paint off and try again? if so, what can i get the paint off easy with? and what size steel wool did you use? i got the 1000 or something like that it's the finest you can get not rough rough. and if i took the paint of and cleaned it would it look like it did or not? and can someone give me some pics of the interior close up thats painted? thanks a lot

for the vents, the spray should get it in there anyway, if you've removed them. just adjust the spray and do it from different angles. it'll get in there.

Try my technique on the other post...it works, just dont rush through it! I duct taped my vents....and cupholders and stuff cause I wanna make sure it lasts.
