#67973, "Please post a pic of your Original Stock front end 97-99"

I have been told this car has a bad ripoff version of the stock front end. Can someone please post a picture of an original stock front end off of a silver eclipse if possible so I can compare the front ends apples to apples.

Thanks.

Looks good to me only difference I see is that the whole thing is painted silver, lots of time the will leave a black part on the top of the mouth...and also there is no mitsu symbol...

Climb under your car and look at the back of your cover and see if there is any company names or stapings....

Most likley, the person who told you that is a dummy, and they think because you have no stick on mitsu symbol it must be a fake

#1) That's not a stock front end clip. The recessed portion of the mouth on top is supposed to be black. There is also no mitsu logo.

#2) There is black plastic that curves up towards the radiator in that main air dam. It's not there in your pic and you can see the frame (or whatever that huge metal beam running across is).

#3) No foglights...Last I checked GSX's came with them stock

#4) The far airdams are open. There is supposed to be black plastic in those. Another indicator that the front has been tampered with.

yes, there is a mitsu symbol, they just took off the sticker. Look you can see the indented area. And here is another eclipse with a 97-99 fornt that loks the same to me:

idk, looks good to me.

That's a stock front bumper. They just painted the black part above the opening silver like I painted mine red. The black plastic that curves up to the radiator isn't part of the bumper, I removed mine. The aftermarket oem front bumpers don't have the indention where the red mitsu sticker is supposed to go, the silver one does have that idention.

it is the stock front end. you can see the mitsu symobol very easy if you look somewhat close. it was just painted over. the guy must not have wanted the fogs so he took em out. and some people take that black part out of the front because they dont like the look of it and if they have a fmic, it provides a little more airflow.

The stock front end is NOT original. It has been in a front end collision and replaced by a body shop. I don't know if it was replaced with an OEM bumper. The plastic piece was taken out, and the fog lights are sitting in his garage, they just haven't been put on since the accident, I'm assuming.

Yes, it's OEM. The shop that repaired his car bought it directly from the dealership.

**EDIT** See my sig pic, mine is an OEM replacement as well. I had that black piece at the top of the center opening painted red.

that bumper is definately stock.

mine, on the other hand, is not. i have an eBay ripoff of the 97-99 bumper. no fog lights, and no mitsubishi logo. good quality material though...

That is a Keystone OEM replacement front bumper. It is what bodyshops replace OEM parts with "aftermarket". I have that bumper on my car. There is not an indention where the diamond star goes, meaning they could not print it, also meaning that it is Keystone not Mitsu. If you want pics of mine talk to me on AIM. Anyway, they are identical if you use the black plastic lower radiator support cover.

i think you need to adjust your monitor, i can clearly see an imprint for the 3 diamond logo on the front on the top pic

That IS MOST CERTAINLY a FACTORY replacement bumper.
The sticker isn't there because they didn't apply it after they painted it.
The black part is silver because they painted it.
The black inner well and fogs aren't there because the guy probably didn't want to go through the trouble to get replacements when the others were broken in the collision.
I have that black piece thats missing if you want it so it looks "stock". I will also have my foglights for sale after I install my FMIC.

Just to add assurance it IS an OEM bumper. You can easily see in the imprint for the diamond star. It just looks like it's missing the accessories like the black curved piece and foglights.
