I bought the light bulbs to redo my gauges. I am a little scared tho about doing my gauges cluster with the speedometer. Does anyone know the correct way to take the needles off? I dont want to fuck up the gauge cluster and then have nothing you know? If I mess it up then I absolutley can not drive my car. So how do I take the needles off the gauges and put them back on in the rite posistion again?

Well, its not entirely dangerous as long as you do things persistently. The needles just come right off if you pull hard enough. But before you do that, make sure you mark the exact spot where the needle is pointing so that you wont get any misreadings on your speed sensor and rpm. First gradually lift the needle over the ending pin and let it move to its furthest point...mark it, then pull it off.

Yeah it's easy; do what he did.

Or you can do what I did; cause the rpms after the cars been warmed up is 800 rpms. Just drive the car around, and place needle back onto the 800 mark.

edit: oops, wrong problem. For the speedometer, I tried doing the marking thing but didn't work. So I had to do several drive buys on those radar gun stations, and just placed the needle back in. You can also have some go about 40, then place it on their. Just make use that their speedometers are working correctly.

which mod exactly are you doing? if you're just changing the bulbs the needles stay on. you'd only take them off if:

a) you're sanding your needles to pickup the LED color better

b) you're using your stock gauge faces and are sanding the backs down so the LED color will shine through

Just screwed up I think.. Help.. I ordered the wrong bulb size.. I read one post and it says #74 is the bulbs we need and i refer to another post and it says #194 are the ones we need.. Now I ordered #194.. Am I screwed?

Yeah. You need #74 for the gauge cluster.

Having Problems? Heres my Three step solution to anything 2gnt related.
Step 1: Put down everything in your hands.
Step 2: Grab a lucky strike, Smoke it.
Step 3: Walk to the fridge, double fist some keystone ice, sit down in the shade, drink one beer, finish cigarette, drink other beer, roll a joint, smoke it, walk back to your problem, and in about 5 minutes the solution will come to you.

what I did was remember what my car idled at after it was turned on, as well as the fact that the speedo needle moves to 0mph exactly (usually) when the car is on, I did screw up my speedo(trying the marking thing) but I no long have the stops on the gauges, so when the car is totally off, the needles point straight down, and when power is on to where the guages live, they go 0mph and 0rpm(unless the car is totally on, at which it goes to idle RPMs), i'll catch a pic of them later after I fix 'em and get this light mod finished myself...

oh, by the way, does anyone have the walkthrough on how to do the LED cluster mod? I'm too lazy to search

Yeah thats what I had to do too...drive a couple times to find one of them speed sensors.
