You do know that you're supposed to use that switch when you run your defroster, right?

I like it.

"We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or great depression. Our great war is a spiritual war; our great depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires and movie gods and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very , very pissed off"

and YOU knew that it was to vent air from outside the vehicle to inside. Or keep recirculating the current air that is in the vehicle.
Bringing in air from outside wil usually DEFOG a window. It has nothing to do with the defroster.
