iv got a stock carpet here that i wanna dye black, but i need to get it as clean as possible. i figured i might just throw it in the washing machine for a couple cycles versus spending hours with a pressure washer. anyone ever do this? i wouldent think it would tear up the carpet...and would certainly be more gentle than a jet of water...probably get cleaner too.

i dont think it would be a problem, but i really, REALLY wouldn't put it through the dryer, because it could melt and stuff... did you try a steam cleaner?

by god i got her in there and washed it 2x. works pretty damn well, just gotta cram it in so it all gets soaked. there are still some spots that need to be cleaned....but overall much better than what it was.
