#6710, "Bahama Blue or PPG Royal Saphire Blue? Decided to Paint My Car..."
I was at the body shop today finishing up work on my rear blitz bumper (it's almost all done now - I can't believe how much extra work I did to make it perfect). Well, I had already decided I was NOT going to paint my whole car a different color than magenta gray pearl. But a day at the body shop got me back into wanting a complete paint job. Now, I have to pick a color. The main ones that come to mind are:
Bahama Blue from the SLK
Si Blue with Blue pearl
PPG Royal Sapphire Blue
Anyone know what this color is on the eclipse below?
Also, I don't plan on painting the insides (might do it later myself, but under the hood, trunk, door jams etc is too much sanding and removing parts for me right now - I'm really short on time). I don't think I'll be able to sell my car for the amount I want for it (listed it for a week already) so I guess I'll be keeping it...you guys think I should also keep the stock 3 piece wing? I'm kinda too lazy to take it off and shave the holes left.
What color do you guys think I should get? I'm leaning towards SLK Bahama Blue. Thanks.

Thanks guys, it's so hard to pick between SLK Bahama Blue and PPG Royal Sapphire Blue. Both are BRIGHT colors, but not necessarily very light. I wanted sky blue at first, which would definitely show all the lines a lot better than one of these darker blues, but I just love the solid, reflective color of these dark blues.
Oh ya, another color I like is PPG Supersonic Blue like on the Ground Designs 2000 Civic that our shop did way back in the day (first GD kit). Check this out:
PPG Supersonic Blue with Blue Pearl
Oh ya, I have another question. Has anyone tried painting their door jams themselves? The shop will mix some extra paint, and I was thinking of getting it made into a spray can, and then painting the door jams myself...

wouldn't that be kinda hard to do with the spray paint? well for me it would, i'm having troulbe painting parts on my interior! but i would get the supersonic or ppg. they both look good. and whats the price on that? i like those colors a lot

Ya I just saw that Super Street today. I did want a light blue with a blue or purple pearl, but even though it looks good, I don't want my car to have that "toy-car" look. I don't want it to be like those with pastel toy paint jobs. That's why I'm leaning towards a darker blue. All those dark blues have a tint of purple in it, but I don't want my car to look mainly purple. I want it to look mainly blue...
When you guys see the SLK bahama blue in person, do you think it looks purple or blue? It's so hard to decide, I might end up just starting off with a base color of ppg blue and then add other colors into the mix til I like it. However, the bad side is that it will probably be impossible to ever match that color again...
BTW, for the person that asked, its abour 1400 for an exterior paint job, but I got it cheaper cus I work for them and am doing a lot of the work myself too. Anyone know how hard it is to fix minor door dings? What do I use? I'll probably start that next weekend hopefully.

the SI's color is actually electron blue, but acuras supersonic looks alot better, especially with a pearl. of the ones you posted, id get the PPG. but other blue colors to consider which i like a bit better are house of kolor candy cobalt blue and DuPont Spectrum Whisper Blue Pearl. heres a pic of the supersonic blue pearl:

Ya House of Kolour paint is great, but too expensive for me. I love the candy burple. But that GD2000 Blue SI I posted is not stock si electron blue, its actually PPG Supersonic Blue with Blue pearl (our body shop painted that car). It's yellow now...
I honestly have no idea how to pick now...maybe I'll just toss up a coin? or count votes? hehe
