this goes out to all you people who made fun of me for having "bling bling" wheels...



There is one thing I hate about these wheels...It's this:


I know they don't want to scratch the wheel and all, but SHIT. I can see it a mile away~ Is this a common thing to do on new/performance wheels? Should I paint them? or get the weights that goes around the rim of the wheel? I just want to do something to hide them.
But I really LOVE these wheels... can't wait to put them on...

i am not a fan of all black wheels. but if the weights are bothering you that much i would just paint them with some touch-up paint or something so they dont stand out...pretty easy fix.

they look REAL close to stock rims

Uhm, I'd say by the time you get your brakes in there you won't notice that weight that much. Only time you'll ever see it is when it's stopped and just happens to be at just the right angle to notice. Don't sweat it dude. If it's that big of a deal hit it with some black krylon

you could put regular weights on those rims if you wanted to. they're much uglier though imo. just paint them.

Dude,most of those come off easy some times they use double sided tape.if you put a heat gun or a hair dryier it will come out..the reason for the tape alot of people don;t like it..

i work at a tire shop, all we use to get them off is a scraper-like tool. they come right off, they're not really on there all that great.

Dude, yea, just paint the weights, I wish I'd remembered this post earlier, but I have some black touch up paint I've had to use on my front bumper before, it uses a lil brush like thing, so you dont have to worry about painting your rims along with the weights

tape weights are suppier to rim weights.

the balance is usually much closer and isn't on the edged but in the center of the wheel.

if you told the tire shop you were gonna race or anything they would use some special (nicknamed 200mph tape) wheel weight tape to hold them on better.

(this is the procedure discount tire taught me when i was working there couple years back and we were installing yoko slicks on some race turbo 911's we tape weighted every wheel and then taped over them twice and rechecked the balance numerous times.)

when the wheels are on i doubt you'll notice the weights all you will see is brake dust and your brakes.

You can have it cheap, fast or good. Pick any two.

If you want it cheap and fast, it's not going to be good.
If you want it cheap and good, it's not going to be fast.
If you want it good and fast, it's not going to be cheap.

Me likey those wheels. If I get my money here, I'll be probably ordering a pair of those in either that GM or white for Daisy in about 8 weeks. If not, I might see about getting the Motegi Track_Lites.

Yeah, I got those rims to specifically mimic the stock 16 looks with the 5 spoke design. Some people have said that they thought I got my 16s powdercoated but they still look good since the spokes are thinner.

The only bad thing about these rims is the fact I really want to get a big break upgrade to fill up the space!!!

ONE MORE THING...

I've been hearing a lot of stories about bent wheels, but how do they happen? I mean, I got ghetto wheels and drive all kinds of conditions everyday. I'm really not sure if I got bent wheels or not. The roads here in TN are pretty bad IMO and I sure as hell don't want to fuck my new wheels either. any opinions?

hitting a curb or pothole is a good way to bend the rim. driving on a flat tire will alot of the time do a number on your rim(s) too.
