phat thanks guys, and yeah i'd totally be interested in meeting up. I've got a hienous boost leak at the moment and zero time to fix it, but hopefully i'll tackle it next week/weekend.
I've never had TN cops pull me over before (knock on wood), but as far as the cop slicing the tint, thats TOTALLY not legal, same in the sense that a cop can't legally 'fix' your car if its broken, they can only help you change a tire or jump you. Thats why you get a fix it ticket. If i were your buddy i'd sue the cop and see wait for him to not show in court for the ticket, then drop the suit.
FIY: did you also know that if yo'ure stupid enough to let a cop search your car, they can totally tear it up, but they HAVE to put everything back the way it was (if they dont' find anything)? Make sure you ALWAYS get their badge number before you sign receipt of ANY tickets, and when they ask if they can search, ALWAYS say no, then ask for their badge number. I actually had a trooper start going through my trunk when I was getting my wallet after going through my front door pouch (mom's car) when i got out of the car (i was at the beach in MD) and I slammed it down on him (the trunk), narrowly missing his wrists. Words were exchanged on both sides, but he had already written up most of the ticket anyways. Thing is, he didnt 'say anything about the trunk because he's only allowed to grab things on top (plain view), can't go looking for stuff w/o a warrant or permission. Know your rights and be VERY firm. You have everythign to lose, they have nothing. ---------------------------------------
