you're asking about two completely different things. HID's are a special type of lighting system. instead of your typical halgoen bulbs, a High Intensity Discharged bulb with a special ballast is used. these are sold in kits an replace your stock BULBS. my kit was about $350 (special 2gnt discout from bruce's speed shop). typically kits are a couple hundred more. HID's are VERY bright and generate less heat and consume less energy than standard halogen bulbs. you've probably seen them on several newer luxury cars.
projectors are a type of special headlight HOUSING. intead of the standard reflective housing which looks something like what you'd see in a flashilight, a circular projector lense is used to focus the light. this is part of the entiere headlight housing. they come in different versions (single/dual/halo) and in different colors (black/chrome/carbon fiber).
pearwhile has projector headlights on his car as you can see in his sig. note the two round projector lenses inside his headlights. i think he also has HID's (based on his other post) but you really wouldn't know until you saw him turn on his headlights.
so yes HID's and projectors are both available for our cars but they are two completely separate items.
