hey all. i thought i would paint some of my interior. went and got krylon paint that had it could be used on plastic, rubber, etc. and also got some clear coat. i was going to test it so i too off the inside part behind the door handle,put some newspaper down and sprayed it and it doesn't stick well at all. i know you can sand it but i thought you could do it so that you could take it off also? any help? and please respond soon cause it's outside drying

I did a bunch of stuff in mine, and my friends whole interior, i just went over it with steel wool, it doesn't leave noticable scratches and it coated well. But don't expect it to cover fully the first coat, do it lightly, if you put it on heavy it usually fish-eyes. ok bro, here is what you do. Go to pep boys or whatever place and buy some Bulldog adhesion promoter, some primer and whatever paint you want to use. Spray like 3 light coats of the bull dog, then a number of primer then your paint, then clear coat. It is rather time consuming, but well worth the time. Also the best stuff on the market to clean your interior once painted is Fantastic. Get the stuff with the anti-bacterial stuff in it....

is it necessary to put on the adhesive and primer? i want to be able to take it off if i change my mind later on. and i was seeing how it would come out with using some steel wool and first it made it dull, then after it dried it has some bumps in it, anyway to take them off without messing it up? it was raining so i had to stop. and should i do the back of it also? thanks for your help guys

WHAT?!? first of all you shouldnt be using krylon on flexible parts (dash, doors, steering wheel) you have to use a vinyl spray with a flex agent in the paint designed for painting moving upholstery. use SEM's vinyl spray. use krylon only on the hard plastic parts, and dont use primer, just sand it and paint it. you will regret painting your dashboard with krylon, it will be peeling in no time

i looked everywhere and couldn't find any vinyl pait but the only thing i've done is hard pastic so i guess i don't have to worry about that. and it still has little bumps in it, there hard, small and all over it. anyway to stop that? it was sanded smooth with steel wool and then i made sure nothing was on it and painted. can't see here i went wrong. thanks all

Yeah krylon sucks, the caps fray and shit. I didn't use any primer on mine, i used 2 coats of plasti-kote ultra enamel and 2 coats of SEM satin-gloss clear coat.
