#63279, "Dont Insult Me But I Need Some Ideas On Lighting"

I was thinking after I get my rims and lower my car I would like to pimp it out just a little bit more by adding some blue underglows (car is red).. Now I know some of you guys think this is rice, but I am in high school rite now and I got a much better car than most of the kids at my school excluding one or 2 celicas and a Denali(wish i had one).. So I want to turn heads a little bit with some nice lighting. Down to the point.. Is Eurolite good? or should I get the StreetGlow Gold Series?

Thanks In Advance

I've never heard of eurolite, and I've never heard of anyone complain about streetglow gold, so I say go for the streetglow. After I do some maintenance stuff to my car, I'm thinkin of getting red underglows for my red talo emoji

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought blue and red lights other than brake lights are illegal on cars. My friend got a ticket for having blue undercar neons and I just wanted to point this out.

gold series have a lifetime warrenty...as long as the outer tube isn't cracked. They are nice and if you don't drive in places that would fuck them up then they should last you forever. I have Street glow 24" blue neons under my dash and they have been under there for going on about 3 years and no problems.

We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires and movie gods and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very , very pissed off"

I believe that any color is legal as long as you can't actually see the tubes. If it is just the color accenting on the ground how can you get in trouble for the ground being red or any other color.

i even had the blue series of street glow and was very satisfied with them. had them on the car for about 2 years, and when i sold them all that was needed was a quick wash and it looked as good as new. i liked mine, but my tastes have since changed. i say go for them...very worth the $$ and will definately turn heads

down here in florida all the colors are illegal as long as your on the road. if you are parked and the car is off you can have them on but other than that forget about riding with them on.

I am pretty sure that is common law everywhere...visible lights while you car is on or while driving are distractions to other drivers and all that crap. Also, red, blue, and i have read green are illegal to have. They are all emergency vehicle colors...i didn;t believe the green one till i saw it in rhode island one time emoji

i wouldnt really bother with the underbody kits. i bought a streetglow kit and after 2 months, 3 of the 4 tubes had cracked. and i dont even have my car lowered yet. the last remaining 3 ft bulb i put in my custom built trunk

I no longer have my 99 rs because i totaled it!!!

Like above said, don't waste your time with neon because they break very easy. They now make LED underbody kits. Led's don't break that easy so that is what I would recommend getting. Good luck with your ride!

^^^ i dunno how hard yall are on equip, but mine were in mint condition after 2 years of usage...and i lived in the country for 1 of those...driving down 2-3 miles of dirt/gravel roads, really really shitty roads (you people in the city think you have it bad). i positioned mine to where there were other things that had to break (like the entire frame) for the bulbs to get exposed. i positioned my rear light up in the rear crosmember ect....just use your head. no, you cant go flying around jumping stuff and hitting potholes and expecting everything to be fine. but like i said, i had a much better chance throwing a rock or something when i lived in the rural areas, and NEVER had a problem. oh, and i dont know where you live, but green isnt illegal in texas or oklahoma (mine were green), and its perfectly legal to drive around with them on....dont have to be parked. but your bulbs/tubes cannot be visible in any state...that is illegal everywhere.

Up here in ohio everythings legal other then blue and red mix, and flashing lights i.e. strobes. I like them but I too have kind of steered away from them because of there stereotype "rice" that comes with them... If it wasnt for all the crappy cars having them they would still be good.

where i live in KY it doesnt matter what you do, the cops could care less here. i could damn near put sirens on my car with flashing red and blue lights and drive around they would eventually stop me and tell me to get a life tho but wouldnt ticket me heh. but from what i heard, red and blue are illegal, other colors are too but they arent always as quick to get you with those as red/blue. ive had red under my last car for 1 yr, one of those kits at advanced autoparts. i drove down country roads all the time and none of them ever cracked on me. now i just have leds on my hood and license plate neon no more underglows for me. transformers kept blowing emoji

so id go with street glow gold series, i did have those bulbs before and they never gave me any trouble. eurolite is a good co. (im partial to toucan) and always have good products but i dont have experience with their underglow kits, but their leds and bulbs are pretty nice.

Yeah well the cops might be easy on you where you live but that doesn't mean they're not illegal there. They just might not inforce it. I think the general law EVERYWHERE is that you can't have them on while the vehicle is moving. If you're parked somewhere then it's fine. Otherwise keep them off.

Michigan
underbody=off while driving, ok parked
interior=on all the time, as long as the source isn't visible

I have a set of blue on my camaro with two under the dash wired to a key chain remote so I can turn them one and off from a distance.

I have a set of yellow that's gonna go on my talon sometime..probably wait until spring now. I also gotta remote unit for that too...it's pimp emoji

Im going to keep this short cus the topic of neon lights has been discussed to death.....The law is DIFFERENT in every state.

The majority of laws say that you cant have a pulsating blue or red light visable from the front of your veichle, (hence break lights are excluded as they are on the rear)...now that being said, many other colors are ok, now cops will pull you over cus you will turn thier heads just like everyone elses....So states/provinces are different in that any colour is ok, as long as it doesent pulsate....How do I know? I have blue neons, I lived in florida for 2 years, and am now in Toronto, and Iv been everywhere in between....My lights are on whenever it is dark enough, and I drive right past cops all the time, IV NEVER BEEN PULLED OVER for my lights....They do look cool, they arent rice, but be sure to make sure the bulbs arent showing, (its easy on our cars) and last but not least, dont be surprised if you break one when installing the four and have to send it back to street glow for replacment.......(and they are great about replacements) They are more likelyto break while your installing them then once on your car.....

and last but not least, pick upi some nylon clamps, and use them instead of the metal ones provided, they flex better and dont cause as much stress on the enclosures..... emoji

red and blue are for emergency veichles, whereas green is often used for fire fighter voleenters or off duty, (but only in the responce to a fire) so if a car with flashing green lights is trying to pass, let him go, hes a firefighter....

Ok, here's my experience with Neons & LEDs... i've traveled to quite a few states and make a point to talk to cops all over the place...most of the time the state troopers are the ones that'll bust you, especially if it's a state law...but, like here in TN where pretty much anything goes, they're pretty linient(sp?)..I was talking to one just the other day and said that 99% of the troopers here dont have a problem as long as they arent flashing or something there of...to quote him- "As long as it something that cant be mistaken for an emergency vehicle by even the simplest of people, then we dont care, but if we, like, see you playing cop and making people pull over so you can have a clear path, then we're gonna bust your ass faster than you can turn around"(also made a point that it was DEFINATELY illegal to mix red, blue, and/or white lights that werent factory, here) He also stated that even though most troopers didn't care that DIFFERENT TOWNS had different expectancies on the matter, all depends on the judge(s).

Also, on the interior neons, nearly all cops do not care at all how much light you have in your car, especially if it's not flashing...some are picky about it, especially if your car looks like a rolling rave club...

As for the undercar kits, LEDs are the way to go, I just got mine on yesterday, and have had no problems at all..even with the awkward mounting of the front and rear tubes...they are great, and i'm eased knowing that they're harder to bust than neons(the outer tube has to crack before the lights are affected by external forces...)... although the only problem you MAY have with them is that they have multiple settings that are operated by 1 button...and there's a small chance that you could hit that some way and make them flash...which would get you busted for sure if you're driving... but the brightness and performance are great, and they are about the same price as the Streetglow Gold series... only problem you may have is that each set is different and some sets have a slightly sectioned appearance per tube..but the biggest gap between the lights on the ground on mine is about this much -> | |

EDIT: Also, since you have a red car...get another color that doesnt contrast as badly as blue... green, red, yellow, or orange would be better choices, the blue on red would be awkward looking IMHO

Bro, get a good sound system, dont be stingy, it turns head much better than lights, i can vouch for that

I just wish my car was as fast as it was loud. people tell me i should use my sub to push it, it might go faster.
