#63123, "Need Help With Ratteling Noise In Dash"

I have had my car for about 3 months now and I still have this noise and rattle in my dashboard. I hope its nothing serious and just something stupid like some deusche bag droppin tic tacs in there. Anyway do I need to dismantle my air bags to Take out the dash? I have read the write up and I am still a little confused. So what exactly has to be done just to get the dash out. If the air bags need to be taken out, how long does it to get the whole dash out and is it difficult to put them back? Help me out..

Thanks In Advance

What type of rattle and where excaly tin the dash is it coming from?

It might be your throw out bearing if its seems like its coming from down by your feet. But that might be more classified more as a grinding sound. Let us know where exactly it coming from...but they are both right above by saying that all DSM's rattle.

It is coming from the dash all the way up by the windshield on the passenger side. It will do it for a lil bit then stop.. or if I make my car jerk a lil bit it will stop. I think something is just stuck in there rattling.

I would pop the tweet out from the top of the dash and have a look around in there. to take it out, just use a thin flathead (with a thin piece of cloth around it to prevent gouging) and pry the tweet out.

if you can find the culprit, do a search for "dash removal", theres a really good write-up on how to do it. emoji

yep, my car rattles at idle and >6000rpm. I figured out one of the squeeks, at idle atleast, is the passengers side seat incline adjuster. consider it part of your rough idle. and if you don't have one, fix it. emoji

I have that rattle also! I narrowed it down to the passenger side hood hinge. If you can get it to rattle while the car is parked get out and hold the corner. It should stop.

best time so far 14.3 @ 101.1mph
