I apologize in advance for not having pictures of it, but I have changed the color of my carpet, it used to be grey. So I tried some krylon semi-gloss black paint on it...and it did a fantastic job. It looks so good, you cant even tell I painted it. I know you might be wondering if it will come out, with water and stuff, but ive had mine painted for about 2 months and it has stood up very well to the abuse of everyones feet and stuff.

You can kind of see my carpet at my website (interior pics @ http://mason.gmu.edu/~marndt

Are you talking about the whole carpet or the floormats?? I just dyed my floormats black.. I have a black leather interior and the carpet is grey.. the black floormats looks tight!! I used RITE clothes dye.. but not that shitty powdered kind.. the liquid.. and maybe I used too much but I used 1 bottle per mat.. it says it should be able to dye 2lbs worth of fabric.. I used 2 just in case..

Nice interior, mikee97gs. How did the paint work out for you, exactly? Is the carpet all tackey now?

What color interior would you guys suggest for the stock (ugly) green exterior?

I used krylon semi-gloss paint. It smelled for a couple days, but now its gone and smells fine. Hasnt turned sticky yet. Paint it black!!!! Black looks really good and covers up stainds easier!! Once u go black u never go back!!! Wait, im white, should I be saying that...? lol

U gotta take it out. You could try to do it with it still in the car, but it would be really hard to get on the edges. Take it out, u just have to take out a few panels and the seats. Not that hard.

forget about that link guys (accmats.com). they custom mold carpets for cars and have a huge variety of colors. they sell the carpets with all the contours and curves of the floor pan. cool. HOWEVER, they have yet to mold the floor pan of our car, so it is NOT available. sorry guys.

So a company out there sells molded carpets. I wonder how they go about actually molding the carpets. Perhaps it is something easy and duplicatable, like placing the carpet on the floorpan and starching it. Anyone out there think this would work?

the guy i spoke to at accmats said that they take a mold of the floor pan and custom fit a carpet to it. if you call them up and ask them, they'll prob tell you. 1-800-352-8216
