Yeah! My guage cluster keeps on f**king up. The RPM needle keeps on jumping around.. and the Speedometer keeps on droping down to 0 mph.. its so annoying.. and recently my odometer stopped workin.. i don't know what's going on.

Do i need a new guage cluster?

Or, is it my ECU or something? i dont know much about this car, so please help me out.

happened to me with my tach. the guy who had my car before me went ape shit on splicing into the ECU. and a random wire was bare and was grounding out, throwing all my gauges off (tach, speedo, etc...) open up your hood and check to make sure all the ECU wires are nice and covered. other than that, its quite easy to replace the stocker gauge bezel, ive seen them on ebay and i know you can get it from bob kise, give him a call

sounds like a wire shorted out somewhere....what did you do directly before it started messin up?? check the wiring for your speed sensor, if it is messed up then your odometer won't work and your speed will be all fahq'ed up n whatnot. Tach....i dunno....if anything was ever spliced into it its possible that the connection is loos or sumthin.

In short.....sounds like wiring issues and/or a shot speed sensor.

Well, the part of this that is odd is that it is your speedometer AND your tach. I would check the ground for the gauge cluster first, as a ground could have that effect. Probably wouldn't notice it with the fuel gauge or the coolant temperature needles, because they move so slowly, but I bet that they are doing the same thing. Just pull the cluster, clean the contacts, and check all of the wires. My hunch is that it is ground related, though. Also, the odometer is driven by the speedometer (not the speed signal wire), so if the speedometer isn't working (or there is no ground) then the odometer will not work.

if you find your problem and just wanna replace your spedo/odo assembly there is no use to replace the whole thing. i have one, and its reset to 0 miles, you can just set it to your correct mielage and have a working odo again.
