i want to buy a kit asap for my car, what do you guys recommend? and this isnt going on a 2gnt, what weight do you recommend? 35? 45? its an old suburban and these doors way a ton. thanks

On my 2gnt I used the SPAL shaved door handle kit. I got it on ebay for about 100 bucks. It's got the 35's though, and it is barely enough to crack the door on the eclipse, and sometimes it doesn't crack it all the way open and I have to hit the button twice. I recommend going with something stronger, maybe like a 50lb for the heavier doors. check out the kits at Autoloc, www.autoloc.com Their kits are one of the best from what I've heard.

i got 50lb Autolocs on mine, and a secret james bond button that i bump with my knee if I leave my keys in the car.
Furthermore, Optikal is 100% right, evenso my doors barely crack open too for me to open with. And yes, I have to hit my button twice or sometimes 3 times to open. You gotta watch your fingers/hands when I open the doors with the remote from the inside of the car. That spring action from the door handle inside would take your hand off it opens so hard and fast.
Looks great, but it's a pain in the ass. Also, Optikal : 2 questions.... do you gotta slam your door hard to close all the way? and also did you have probs with your windows lining up or rolling up correctly when opening/closing door?
btw my autolocs have a life of 50,000 switches on the cellunoids. I wonder if I would open my doors that many times.

Kaptain, yes I have to slam my doors hard for them to close all of the way sometimes. Oh, and nah I don't have any problems with the windows lining up right.
Shaving looks great but sometimes it can be a pain in the ass.

I have the SPAL Amenity kit with 35 lb actuators that I am going to install on my '99 Clipse. For the Burbon I recommend getting the 50 lb actuators. Also, the bearclaw kit works really well, though more expensive. It has a claw-type setup latch that opens and stays open when you trigger the actuator, then closes when the door is shut. It eliminates the annoying procedure of having to press the remote 2 or 3 times to open your door. Check it out.
