#59510, "Translucent Blue Powder Coated Valve Cover..."

Hey everyone, we just recently got into a new-to-us process with powder coating the other day. We first do a coat of "Almost Chrome" as a base, then apply a translucent/metallic coating on top. I think it comes out beautifully...

We did this 420A valve cover Translucent Blue last week for a customer... I'm just curious about everyone's opinion...

As always, any feedback is appreciated...

Thanks,
Scott Hotaling

Thanks for all the compliments guys, I was hoping I wasn't just prejudice since we did it emoji Anyways, because of the workload and two-step coating we are tentatively setting the price at $60 for this kind of valve cover. Regular colors are still just $45 emoji

Feel free to email anytime, always glad to answer any questions...

Yes, we do offer a $15 discount to 2GNT members, the $60 already includes that. Normally the prices would be $60 for a regular color, and $75 for the translucent two-step coating, but for 2GNT they are both $15 cheaper. Hope that helps clarify.

Scott

How long does it take you to do this (how long will our cars be down for)? We don't plan on doing it soon, but it is something to check out imo.

The stripping/prep work/coating will take about 1-2 business days. Shipping would be anywhere from 2 days round trip to a couple weeks depending on where you live.

We also can do a core exchange if necessary. This means we powder coat the valve cover, you pay a "core deposit" of $50, and we send it the part to you. Then when you send your old valve cover back to us we refund the $50 core deposit. That way your car is never down.

Thanks,
Scott

We sure can, here's a picture of a Mazda Miata intake manifold done in "Almost Chrome"...

It is simply a powder coat so it would need nothing more than normal prep work. We're about two hours from Knoxville if you take I-40 towards Asheville. Drop me an email and we can go from there.

Scott

Hey everyone, sorry I haven't replied in a couple days... I was down in Laurens, SC doing some Auto-X'ing. I'm back now though, and I'm going to answer all the replies individually... here goes... emoji

MCubed45,
Thanks, we try to do our part... the banner seems to work out great, I'm glad you guys are noticing it.

GorkoRacing and xEclipsE RaceRx,
You got everything right, so here's a sum up... Just send your spare valve cover to:

SM Polishing
3153 Little Savannah Rd.
Sylva, NC 28779

Enclose a M.O. for $75 (includes shipping) with the valve cover. You can also pay by Paypal if you would prefer that method to sales@smpolishing.com. Then just send us an email telling us so we can be on the lookout for it.

PowerEclipses,
We do powder coat wheels. We are located in Sylva, NC about one hour West of Asheville, NC and about two hours East of Knoxville, TN. The wheels must be smaller than 16" though, so if they are... drop me an email and we'll go from there.
-----

That should cover everybody, thanks for all the replies... I look forward to hearing from you guys!

Thanks again,
Scott Hotaling

Like I said, I think the prices are very good. I was quoted $200 to have my intake manifold polished from a custom shop here in PA. Considering the amount of work involved, $92 is a great deal emoji
