#58238, "a $1000 to repair the rear quarter panel???"

so my grandma hit my car a while back, leaving a foot long crease in my door panel forward of the rear wheel well. it's about 3-4 mm deep, looks like it can be banged out (not tooo severe).

I got an estimate for my rear bumper since I got rear ended last week, that was only $500(their insurance will pay for). I couldn't really pass off this quarter panel thing as related to that he he. but he told me that panel will cost a $1000. holy f$%* to the peeps how had those panels repaired - how did you guys fix that and how much $ is reasonable

you could prolly do it for cheaper yourself. sand down the quarter panel, the area around the dent. then bondo it over. then repaint. now that i think about it, would proly cost from a shop around $700. shit you might as well get a widebodykit for $700

that rear quarter panel is welded on. there are no bolts i dont think. that is why it is so much. it goes from your door to the back of your hatch. they quoted you a new panel, not a fix to the old one.
