#57625, "Removing Steering wheel..."

I'm swapping my steering wheel off of a 99' GS for a leather wrapped GST steering wheel. I already know the procedures of removing a steering wheel but I have one problem. After I pull off the inflator module(airbag), how do you remove the connector from the SRS inflator? Its like its stuck on there.

Any suggestions? Easier methods? Thanks emoji

make sure you disconect your battery like ten minutes before. remove the airbag, 4 10 mm screws from behind. pull it slowly youll see 2 wires, horn and air bag. on the back of the airbag you'll see a white plug, just pull that (lightly). might have to use a lil flat head to get it out but dont force it, it will come off and then just disconnect the purple wire.

hope that helped

So the white plug on the airbag can be removed using a flathead? So when you said pull the plug, did you mean up, like slide it up? Or pull it down? Or just straight up, towards me?

it should have to small hooks that wrap around it comming from the airbag, use the flathead to release those hooks(dont break em!) and just pull straight out

Just remember that once you take of your steering wheel airbag it sets off your SRS light and the only way to get rid of that warning is to have it reset at the Dealer for an insane amount of money... And I'm still not positive if it disables the SRS system totally or if it only turns on the warning light.

-Good luck...
