I'm finishing up my interior before i sell my car. I've been fiberglassing some of the interior pieces when i have free time. I'm doing the lower dash, lower doors, rear panels etc.. Pretty much everything except the dash and upper doors. Anyway, i took some pics of 2 pieces that are almost done. I used Testors model spray paint, they're silver with a transparent blue metallic pearl. I need to Kleer Kote them and they're done, i'll post pics of the rest as i finish it. What do you think?

those look really good. i dont know how you did them but i could never do that that well. good luck with anything else you are going to glass.

what did you use? i want to start mine real soon.

I did a step by step in another post, but i'll do a quick one.

First i scuffed the parts with heavy grit paper and drilled small holes for the fiberglass to drip through so it won't peel. I layed down a sheet of FG cloth and some poly-resin. After it dried i sanded it and used body filler on the low spots etc.. Then i used filler primer and wet-sanded them with 1000 grit to get them real smooth. After all the sand scratches were gone, i painted them with the testors paint.

P.S. The lower dash part in the picture i didn't use cloth because i wanted to keep the vents, so i just used the resin, it was a PITA and it's still not completely smooth.

ok, i will look for the other post. i was wondering what you used for the bottom dash parts. if you are just using resin, then you wouldnt have to sand it smooth right? just get it rough so it has something to stick to?

It don't want to sand it smooth before you put resin on it if thats what you mean. You want it rough so the resin has something to hold on to. So yes, rough it up. Actually what I did before I started on my visors, was to rough it up a little with like 40 grit paper, then I criss crossed it with thin valleys with a dremel cutting tool.

Having Problems? Heres my Three step solution to anything 2gnt related.
Step 1: Put down everything in your hands.
Step 2: Grab a lucky strike, Smoke it.
Step 3: Walk to the fridge, double fist some keystone ice, sit down in the shade, drink one beer, finish cigarette, drink other beer, roll a joint, smoke it, walk back to your problem, and in about 5 minutes the solution will come to you.

If still nothing, your trying to hard. Start over at step 1.

They're not replacement parts, i just put a layer of FG over the stock panels, so actually if anything i'm adding a pound or 2 lol. It looks alot better in person, especially today since i put the Kleer Kote on. I'll get some more pics up soon.

I am going to be doing that to my car this winter if I ever find out everything that is needed to do that job right. If someone could point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it.
