you manual or auto? do a search. the sensor on our manual transmissions has a tendency to go bad. it's a brass bolt w/ wire harness on top the tranny near the ecu. happens a lot and people either clean or replace it depending on the situation.

ha well welcome to the wonderful world of dsm i've done all of the above and none of it has worked. Oh well who needs back up lights anyway.. Our cars are known for crappy wiring, if it's not the sensor then it's the wiring somewhere along the way. Hope you can get them to work. Take a clean terry cloth and some cleaner and shine up the ball really nice and stick it back in there, ride a around and see if it works. Then try to replace it if it doesn't JUST DON'T GO TO AUTOZONE they looked at me with a blank stare for 20 minutes cause they have NO idea what i needed. I just gave up and left. Try like napa just becareful and take ur part in cause there are a couple different part numbers they will get.
