okay, i've got a 7" widescreen monitor that fits PERFECTLY velcroed to the passenger side visor over the mirror. BUT velcro looks cheesy. I want to cut into the visor, take the mirror out, and recess the monitor about 1/2 inch into the visor. so it looks more flush. i plan to cut the material with my dremel tool. has anyone ever taken the passenger side visor apart? how does it come apart? should i cut the cloth with a razor on the seam? please help.

Its pretty much bent around the metal swing bar. You just gotta rip that shit apart, im pretty sure Mitsubishi just glued it together. Thats the only way i saw how to get into mine.

chris, i had it velcroed there to see if i liked it, and although it was a cool spot, the glare from the sun pretty much ruined my chances of watching it during the daytime. also, the silver face of the monitor reflected a beam of light bright enough to blind passengers in my car... i decided it wasn't a good idea.
i was brain storming, and actually about like 2 seconds away from relocating the stereo to the glovebox, and mounting it where the stereo is, but then i figured i switch cd's too much, and (although it would give me a nice chance to reach between the hotties legs) it was too much of a hassle.
it came wish a repositionable mounting bracket that is kind of decent, and would hold the tv tightly, but i think mounting those things on your dash is kind of tacky. does anyone agree??
in conclusion, i think the only place to mount a monitor in our cars (besides the trunk, headrests, or in the glovebox) that would look nice at all times would be the passenger side visor.

My friend has two 5.8" screens, one in each visor in his eclipse. He said that it cost around 75.00 to put one in, not to bad. I was going to get an eclipse 7002 indash monitor but i was going to have to use a cd changer or a playstation to play cds, so i think that im going to hold off on that, and just replace the one that got stolen with an eclipse cd player like i had. Im not sure how much room there is in the glove box but that might be an easier place to mount it, and keep it out of view when needed.
