#55475, "question about projectors"

Whats the difference between projectors and regular headlights? Do they use different bulbs? How does the brightness of each light compare with one another? What does everyone prefer?

Projectors concentrate the beam of light into a more specific area whereas regular headlights just let the light go everywhere.

(good)
Projos look nice.
Put the light on the road and not into oncoming drivers faces.

(bad)
Projos don't light up the sides of the road as well as regular headlights. Regs you can see more so you can see deer and what not.
Projos work better (imo) with HID's and HID's are really expensive unless your Nackers emoji.

We are getting dual (finally spelled it right:thumbsup) projos when we do the 97-99 conversion and will have a fried make us a set of HID's for really chea emoji. I think they look a hell of a lot better then regular ones, as long as you get black projos. The chrome one's look really cheap to me. No offense to anyone.

bullshit! deer are dumb as fuck and don't give a fuck if you got stock lights or projectors. i know this for a FACT!!!

>HID's are really expensive unless your Nackers emoji.

yeah, or you can just get a set off of a wrecked car with them and then they're very inexpensive if you know what you're doing.

The dual projectors were also supposed to solve the problem of not seeing by using the stock bulbs n whatnot. I know with my single pro's i can see jack shit, using a flashlight would be an improvement.

The duals were a huge improvement over the singles but I would not put HID's in them unless you plan on making a better light cutoff. If you don't...I hope you enjoy seeing a Semi's bright lights.

Keep your stockers and save up for the HID. If you really have to have them, invest in a good set of foglights to compliment them, cause the output on the projectors really is crappy, and they tend to lose the protective coating on them as well after a couple of years, leaving them looking hazy/foggy.

Im doing a 99 front end conversion, so I cant keep my stockers, but you guys have convinced me, im going to fork out the extra cash and get OEM 97-99's. Used projectors are pretty cheap, and now I know why.

the good thing about projectors is that they do shine very far down the road .. and look good to boot
