#54408, "Can someone help me w/this???"

I have a 97-99 rear bumper that has cracked and seperated on one of the corners that attach up under the taillights. I have tried epoxy to put this back together but it didnt work. Since our bumpers are made of that rubber type material, I was told (and I can understand why)that I couldnt use bondo or fiberglass resin type kits to fix it. After doing some research, I have found that I may be able to hot weld it back together. Does anybody know about this and can maybe give me some advice on what to do or how to do it. I have called a couple of body shops around here but they cant do it...or wont anyway. Also, if any of you are around the Canton/Akron/Cleveland/Columbus area and can help me w/or do this for me...I will drive to where you are and even pay you for materials and for your services (damn, that sounds pretty porno, huh!!). I have attached links below to view what I am talking about. Just let me know-Thx so much-Anna

...and thx to Uber for setting me up so I can add these pics to this post!!! Uber Uber he's r man!!! emoji

you can use fiberglass and bondo to fix it. its not recommended by most, but it will work. do most of the fiberglassing on the underside, and clean it up with bondo on the front.

A company called Lord makes a line of products called Fusor that is used for repairing urethane. As far as hotwelding it, urethane basically dissentigrates instead of melting nicely, so that probably wouldn't work too good.

isn't like urethane weld or some such thing? I heard my body guy refer to that once while talking to another customer...

"We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or great depression. Our great war is a spiritual war; our great depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires and movie gods and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very , very pissed off"
