Well since I will be getting my car back on monday I need to find a way to install my Seats. Said they were universal but their sliders won't match up...I was going to cut off the mount for the factory sliders and then bolt them to a steel plate..then get them welded together or something. My question would be if this would be safe or not...and if someone else could submit me some ideas that would rock....BTW i checked and no one makes brackets for the seats (dynamic auto design) that i could find TIA!

If it was me I would get some seats with brackets. Welding shit (if done correctly) will hold good, but personally I wouldn't do it because of the off chance that it dosen't hold. Just my 2cents.

if you weld something it's definately going to hold but i wouldn't weld it.

I got mine welded. Works greata and have had no problems. But if you are in an accident where it would come down to how well are the welds going to hold? Then its probably not going to matter much at that point because welds are actually stronger than the steel itself. But do what satisfies you.

So the problem is that there arent any brackets that fit w/ your seats and w/ an Eclipse, right? Because there are tons that fit w/ our cars of course.

I have Tenzo R Rally's and I just ended up buying brackets and sliders with them. It cost like $150 shipped for the parts. But it made the install crazy simple. Just screw stuff together and you're done.

I'm sure you could concoct some home-made bracket/slider combos if you can weld tho.
