Ok i am fabricating( or rather attemping to..) a few things for my interior and i can across a problem...

I made a minor modification to my dash (location doesn't apply), what I did was cust out letters somewhere and put plexiglass cut outs into the letter holes. I am attempting to make sort of a neon sign....problem is that the plexiglass is clear so if i put a neon behind it it will look kinda shitty imo...I want to find a way to sort of smoke the back of the glass white so in the daytime the lettering will appear white and at night it will glow blue...any help on what i can use to smoke the glass would be greaty appreciated..TIA!

We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires and movie gods and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very , very pissed off"

you could spray the lettering with a glossy blue paint. that would give it a blue tint emoji

i think you can try looknig for some stained glass paint or paint that will still allow light to pass through yet colored.. white or whatever color you want in the daytime then the color of the light behind at night.. such as you could use a blue and have it show blue in the day.. and have the added bluelit at night..

dunno where to find that kind of paint... perhaps like a hobby/crafts store.

good luck and very clever idea..

I've done it and it's a bitch.

First of all you can't put the neon directly under your letters or you'll see the tube no matter what. You have to put it to the side. Now you have light fall off...so put one above and one below.

Secondly how do you tint the glass.....seriously....mirror tint bro. Looks bad ass and works great.

I'm going to agree with ^^^. It sounds like you'll need to edge light it, but maybe you could take a fine grain sand paper to the side that is down and maybe give it a coat of silver on this sanded side. That way, the lettering will appear silver during the day, the roughed surface will reflect more of the neon from the sides upwards toward the viewer and you'll still have your super smooth top surface. Just my .o2! emoji
