I just got my new eBay indiglo gauges and am trying to install them right now. I got the faces all on the gauge cluster without problems but when I hooked them up I could not get them to light up. Here is what I am doing...
Since the transformer I got came with a dimmer switch and an on off switch on it, I hooked the red wire from it directly into my 12V home run line I ran straight from the battery to power my accessories and other gauges in the "cockpit". and I hooke the black wire straight into my home run ground wire from the battery. I plugged my negative battery cable back in, but the gauges will not light up. The transformer black box thing that came with the indiglos gets pretty warm, but the fuse hasn't blown and the thing just wont power up.
I've read all the posts about these things but nothing has helped me and that wiring link on the mod page is down.
I read something about the white and green driving light wire, but I looked under the dash and there are 3 white green wires there.

You mentioned only a power and a ground wire. What about a trigger wire? Should be a 12v pos, a neg and a turn on wire. It's been a while since I hooked mine up, but I believe there should be 3 wires.
I grounded it right under the dash and I hooked up the 2 power wires to the 2 dimmer wires on the stock radio harness, that way I could use the stock dimmer to control the gauges. I believe those two wires are solid orange and orange with a white stripe, but I could be wrong about that.

The set up I have looks like this, two wires; a red and a black go into the black transformer box (The red wire has a fuse on it between the contact point and the transformer which is not blown). from the transformer box there are three sets of wires that go out of it. One set goes a a standard on off switch that is mounted on the dimmer plate. The second set of wires goes to the dimmer switch which is on the dimmer plate as well. The third set of wires goes out of the transformer and has the 4 inputs on it that the gauges are plugged into.
I know the ground and the positive wire I had it hooked up to were hot because I have an autometer voltmeter hooked up to that cirbuit and it was lit up and giving a reading.
The only options I can think of are that the transformer box is bad, or the switches are bad. But I've wires so much crap in that car already that In my head and on paper this looks like it should be working.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated, but at this point I may try contacting the seller and returning this POS for something that works!

There should be 3 sets of wires...a black ground, the red power, and a green, possibly green/white wire. Maybe they made theirs a different color. You want to take that extra wire and tap it into either one of the green/white wires in the little kick panel under the steering wheel...this is the turn-on lead to your headlights.

Thats the trouble, there are only two wires as I described above, I eve took it out to make sure I wasn't making anything up, but the wiring is exactly as I poste d in my last reply.
I think what the problem is is a bad inverter box. I found the wire that controls the driving lights I think. When I touch it with my circuit tester pen, both the light bulb in the pen and the driving lights come on when the pen is grounded. I touched the power wire of the inverter box to the driving lights wire, and when the wires touched , the driving lights came on (with out the switch on the steering column being turned on) but no indiglos.

if you only have two wires then your red wire should NOT be hooked into the constant +12v source at the battery. instead it should be tapped into that green/white wire. that's the parking lite wire. whne you flick on your parking lites that green/white wire carries a constant +12v and nothing when you turn off the parking lights. the current draw of the indiglos is usually small enough such that it can draw directly from that green/white wire rather than using it as a trigger wire.
however, given what you have described your indiglos should be always on. or more specifically there is always power going to the transformer. most people would prefer to hook it up to that green/white wire so the indiglos only get power when the parking lights are on. otherwise you will have to flick the indiglos on and off separately from your lights. that'll get old real fast.
if the indiglos aren't working at all there may be something wrong with one of the components.

yeah, my gauges were the same way. only a pos and neg wire...no trigger. hook up your power wire to something that comes on with the lights. but if thats not working then something screwy may be up cuz it should work.

OK, I called procarparts.com where I got them from, and they told me that the inverter box was part of a batch that was potentially faulty and they are shipping a new one to me. Thats kind of cool, because I don't have to rip apart the gauage cluster again to ship the whole thing back to them for a new one.

k cool. now you might wanna hook it up correctly to the green/white wire instead of directly to the battery. unless you don't want them to automatically come on with your parking lights.
