#5282, "Wanna clear my healights, but can't get lens off"
Hey, I want to clear the turn signals in my headlights but I can't get the lens off. I tried the whole hairdryer thing and it worked, until I got back around to the point where I started to heat it and the silicone had hardened again. After that a few times I was gonna try to cut out just the turn signal section from the back but that didn't sound like a really good idea. Anyone wanna tell me how they did it. Also, don't suggest projector headlights, I'm not willing to drop 3 bills for clear signals, I'll stick with amber and pad my wallet.

what you want to do is hold the headlight straight up so that the turn signal is pointing to the sky...(or resting on the ground...there is a little clip that you pull over a tab on the lens...thats you starting point...) then heat up that area so the top and bottom and start to pry the two peices apart, (getting it started is the worst part...i used 2 flat screwdrivers)then heat up each side a little at a time and keep prying (helps if you have 2 people (one can man the blowdryer, the other can keep one hand on each peice (clear lens and housing))keep heating it up (you can actually see the glue melt while you pry)be forceful, but remember its plastic, it will crack...
