#52756, "Sunroof question"

You guys with sunroofs..does that piece of shit plastic/carpet cover that you pull froward and backwards to let sun in through the sunroof ever break or get stuck? mine use to work fine..i'd pull it shut and open it..then it started to get messed up..took a little more effort..then one day i tried to shut it and it came apart..so i just ripped that whole thing off..so now my sunroof always lets light in.. anyone else have the same problem? i think i might get like 5-10% tint on the sunroof..when i want sunlight or lots of air in..i can just open the sunroof..and when i dont want light of light in..the sunroof will be closed and the tint will take care of it..anyone try this?

i took mine off because it was doing the same thing and broke it in half. Its so hot in vegas that even with a/c on i sweat like a mofo cuz light is coming from sunroof. I'll go to local junk yards one of these days and buy a new one.

Same thing here...mine started messing up and came apart so i took it out and went to a junk yard and got a new one...not too much better though...i think the way it sits on the track is just cheap...i think the metal things that ride on the track when you push it forward and back just wear down and then eventually dont fit right...when mine first started messing up i took some grease and put on the track to help it along which helped a little but like you all said, they are just cheap and flimsy and i guess we have to deal w/it. My car has never had that sunroof cover. I was also thinking about tinting it really dark but I haven't gotten around to doing that.
