Well, not totally black as you can see by the color matching. The only thing I have left to do on the panels is finish the B pillar section and put the trunk back together. Now I need black seats and black carpet (that's stage2). And stage 3 will be black vinyl headliner and rear hatch cover. Stage 2 and 3 may be interchanged, dunno.

Anyhow, lemme know what you think.

Oh, and before you say anything, yes the car is dirty as fuck...It's been raining here a lot lately and I don't want to wash it. Plus I"m still ripping out interior pieces and shit. I'll clean it all up when I'm done.

Using Krylon Fusion for the black. Cayenne red is tricky to match since the duplicolor isn't exactly like factory. So what I did was I masked off the areas I wanted to paint Cayenne red and painted them with Krylon Fusion Burgandy until they were a solid color. Then I top coated that with Cayanne red (very very close in color). This not only helped the color match better but it stretched out my Cayanne red (can't find it in anything but small cans with very limited supply).

I tried to use a dull or satin clear coat and it didn't turn out like I liked. So I used a gloss clear coat. I thought it would be too shiny but actualy it looks just like black plastic that's been wiped down with Armorall.

No, I don't plan on painting the door handles. I plan on buying black ones from Satan. And I plan on getting a set of Billet Alluminum crank handles too. The crank handles are painted and since they get sooooo much use I don't expect the paint to last long. And I don't want to paint the door latches for the same reason.

You know, having a car that a lot of people has two sides to the coin. One, you can ALWAYS find used parts, advice and help, other drivers. Unfortunately, you can also ALWAYS find any ideas you might think would be awesome and original for your car on someone else's.

I have yet to find an idea I have/had for things to do to my car that someone HASN'T done...and I hate that emoji I like to be completely original...and this car is hard to do that with!

I was going to do just what you have, only to factory match the durango copper pearl. Now I have to think about something new emoji

Looks awesome man...you beat me to it. Def. do something about those seats though emoji
