#5089, "Anyone with a GS, a question...."

I was wondering if you could tell me how your door caps are attached. I am talking about the part on the bottom of your doors. That kinda blends the side skirts into the car. I have an RS that does not have them. I have aftermarket skirts now and I want the caps to help blend the skirt into the car. I was just wondering how they are attached. Is it just rocker panel tape? Or are there bolts that go throught the doors? I am going to go to the junk yard to try to get some off another Eclipse. The dealer wants 47.83 each, F that! Thanks for the help.

as far as I know it's just tape. make sure you strip off all the wax and really clean the paint befor eyou put them on.

I also have an RS, and want to add side skirts. $50 isn't as bad as I thought they would charge.

That is not for the skirts, just the door caps. I am sure that the whole skirt would be more than that.

Yeah, I wish the whole skirt costs $50, I'd have them on already. I haven't decided whether to go stock side skirt of Battle Z Type 2. I'd want to see what the skirt looks like without the door cap, some look good.

You shouldn't have to drill from his description, and VIS Racing makes battle Z http://www.visracing.com

They just snap on ... there are holes on the door that they snap into... and then there is a adhesive tape on the upper part to help seal and keep them in place.

So I will have to drill holes into my door?

pretty sure you could just use the adhesive tape or something stronger to hold them up.
