Ok, cars at a body shop gettin a new hood, front bumper and front right fender. All of these are being instaled and painted without costing me anything because of insurance.

When I bought the car, the rear bumper had spiderlines and cracks in the paint from a minor accident in a parking garage from the previous owner, there was no dents or body damage, just damage to the paint. I never bothered with it.

Now that its in the shop, I asked how much it is to strip and repaint the rear bumper to remove the cracking paint on it. The guy told me if it was anyone off the street itd be $399 He said since my cars already there and they are already doin the other work, they will do it for $200. They advised me against repainting the entire car as the rest of the paint on the roof and doors is in good shape.

Is 200 to get a rear bumper repainted about a average price?

Damn is painting and body work really that much now geeezzz its so simple i paint my own cars and it really that hard to do bodywork and i had no prior experience whatsoever. damn maybe i should become a painter or body man hahaha nah making technician pay is way to good

but 200 sounds like a lot but i never did go to a shop i always just sprayed my own gotta figure $20 for a 1quart can of primer $40 for 1quart of orginal color more then enough to do the bumper plus $10 for thinner sand paper around $15 and then body work which should take more then 30 mins to sand down.

i guess if he does a good job it would be a good price now that i think of it

I got quotes ranging from $75 to $150 to paint a rear bumper.

I thought about it a lot and called up the shop and told them to do it. While the car is in the shop, might as well have it done witht eh exact same color as the parts painted in the front. I hope they do a good job matching the doors and other paint on the car

I just had my front bumper repainted. They did a little putty work, sanding, then gave it a couple coats and a clearcoat for $125....but I brought in my own paint.
