#50001, "painting door vent thingies"

hey for those of you that painted the vents on the sides of the dash that connects to the doors - did you have any problems with the paint flaking off and getting stuck the rubber connector on the door side? i really liked the way the paint came out but after a couple days it started flaking off where the rubber piece presses up against it when the door is closed... did any of you just take off the rubber piece on the door or something? i imagine it would make the door vents a bit less efficient at blowing air but that ain't that big a deal. oh yea as far as painting i just used a couple coats of silver paint and a couple coats of clear... any suggestions? i'm painting more stuff so i might as well repaint them if i get the chance.

i didnt have any problems flaking. I just put mine on too fast. spray it, a couple layers of clear, and let it sit for a couple days.

just regular spray paint and i think enamel based clear coat spray stuff... i guess no one else has had this kinda problem then? it's weird like there's little bits of the paint stuck on the black rubber part now and there's little patches where the paint came off from the vent...

808: you can't order the speedhawaii dvd online? i thought you could... i don't go down to speed gear very often. my friend works at fast and furious though. actually universal studios asked them to change their name b/c of copyright stuff so it's not gonna be fast and furious too much longer... (had some representative people down here for the premier of 2fast2furious an stuff) i forget if they carry the speedhawaii stuff at their store. i thought they did.
