hey guys, if you have a GTR wing, how much did it cost you to get new holes/fill in your old holes from your stock 3 piece wing? Could you just leave the stock holes and just get new ones drilled? B/c the wing just covers them anyway right? Or could you still see them? And the 2 pieces on either side of the stock wing, could you just leave them on, or will they get in the way of the GTR? I have a really good deal i can get on a GTR wing, but if it's too much money to install it right now i cant do it. Thanks guys

steve

you could plug the holes. I know the center of the hatch will have a big hole tho. Atleast fill the hatch and have it sprayed. Then all u gotta do is do the rear quarters later. emoji

steven, thanks for the reply i was thinkin about that.

myke, my car is green, and i have a realllllly good deal that i could get, im just thinking about how much work im gonna have to do and how much money im gonna spend to get this thing on.

Could you possibly leave the side pieces on from the stock 3 piece? And i was reading the other thread, and someone said it got in the way of the antenna. I have a euro antenna, which i replaced the stock RS antenna with. Is that gonna be a problem too? Basically my 3 main concerns are:

1. Could i leave the 2 side pieces from the stock 3 piece?
2. Is the wing going to hit/rub/interfere with the antenna? It's not the power one...
3. Could i leave the stock holes from the 3 piece wing, or will i have problems with leaking, etc. If i just put the GTR wing on top of it?

Thanks guys!!

steve

if u leave the holes, u need to plug them up somehow. They'd leak.

if you leave the holes, that's stupid. don't even bother if you aren't going to do it right.

is the gtr the same as the WW commando? if so then ya, you need to convert to a power antenna. there's a hole in the wing that allows the antenna to pass through when the trunk is closed and the radio is activated. you *could* possibly stick with the fixed mast one as it's kinda flexible but i don't think you'd want it rubbing everytime you open the trunk. if i'm thinking 'bout a different wing, just disregard this post emoji

thanks for the reply guys

optikal, i want to do it right, what i meant by leaving the holes is just plugging them up with bondo or something, and not going nuts sanding them down, and repainting them, because they are going to be under the wing anyway. If i dont have to spend the money to make them look perfect when no one is going to see them, i would rather do that.

Is anyone sure if i could leave the stock side pieces or not? That's basically what my main concern is, if i can do that then i will most likely get the wing, if not, i dont have the money right now to plug up those holes and get everything repainted, etc. TIA!!
