Okay, so I took out my coolant reserve tank to paint it for a test before I did my interior. Now I washed it, cleaned it with prep-all, washed it again, dried it by hand, and let it sit for a day. Then I used about 5 light coats of paint allowing for 30-45 minutes drying in between. I waited a day then I put on one more heavy coat just to even it out and make sure it was all covered nicely. Next day (let it dry for 24 hours) I took it off it's hanger, turned it over and ran my fingernail along the bottom.....HUGE FUCKING SCRAPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought this shit wasn't supposed to scrape or flake off paint? WTF?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I don’t buy their ads. There are just too many types of plastic for them to design one type of paint that molecularly bonds with all plastics. As far as I’m concerned it’s still just paint with maybe some better adhesion. I think technically any type of adhesion happens on the molecular level.

Did you sand it? Is the fusion supposed to be used with of without primer. I just don't see any paint, no matter what it is specialized for, sticking too good to unsanded plastic. Also, even if you cleaned it really good, from years of sitting in the engine bay it probably had oil soak into the plastic.

Yeah, that's the conclusion I've come to. No, I didn't sand it. I wanted to do it on pure un altered plastic and see if it held up to it's claims.
