#47090, "The EVIL window rattle!!!"

i did a search and seen that nobody (in the thread I found) has found a solution to this problem. I'm the type of guy that hates rattles and annoyin clicks, and I'm the type of guy that loves to have the windows down. And in my case, the window rattles going down the road so I searched another forum and found this...

I don't know how many of you use this forum too, but I figure it might help!

Thank god....its about time. Everytime I shut my door with the window partly or all the way down I think the window is gonna shatter.

believe it or not, I actually broke my passenger window. Well... I didn't do it, one of my friends did it. Last summer, I had all the windows down and when my friend got ot of the car she slammed the door so figgin hard that the glass actually cracked.. good thing I had them tinted so it wasn't that big of a mess to clean up.

nah.. its not just the b!tches, its anyone in general that doesn't respect my car.. lol.
Also on a side note, - after everyone rips off the door panels and does this fix over the weekend, remember to bitch at anyone and everyone that closes your doors by pushing on the glass. Thats the reason that piece moves over time. **ALWAYS** close the door by pushing on the metal, not the glass. saves you from having to do the fix again.

p.s.- Names Jason or Jay, just weird being called my full name. emoji emoji

ok.. I tried the fix over the weekend.. didn't help.. I guess I have something else that rattles in the door. Dunno.. getting really annoying.. but living with it.

side note - the fix talked about filling the door with that expanding foam stuff... the idea sounds solid, but wouldn't that affect the drainage properties of the door then? I know that the doors have drain holes on the bottom for water that runs into the doors, wouldn't all the expanding foam block the holes and keep it from doing its purpose? feedback please.

I tried the fix too, it kinda helped a little... so then I tried adjusting the felt-like tabs on the door... then I adjusted the brackets for the window alignment. Well it turns out I've now left it worse than it was before. emoji It top portion of the window clanks when it hits the trim where the roof is at. I'm gonna readjust the window alignment later on.

ah nevermind on that, for the rolly thing, there is a little metal clamp that hold the roller on the metal rod that needs to pop off but be careful cause mine popped off into oblivion. Now my roller on my passenger side is held on by a homemade clamp (bent paperclip) and some electrical tape wrapped around that ( hidden from view, of course)

I did the fix this weekend also and I think it made a big difference and as far as the expandable foam blocking water drains...that is not an issue because you apply the expandable foam to the the plastic side, not the door itself. Our doors are junk....this just makes them a little more solid.

platic side?? what side of the door is plastic?? The only piece that I see is remotely plastic would be the interior trim piece.. Now.. why would I use the foam on that piece?? Thats not what makes the noise. Please clarify.
