#46689, "primer?"

hey guys, you know when you paint interior pieces is it really necessary to primer? what does it do exactly? i did bunch've my interioir w/ jsut paint and clear... i might be sanding some've it and repainting so it's smooth instead of textured and was just wondering whether using primer would help for anything. idk it came out pretty nice the first time w/o it. i've just beening thinking about making them smooth instead. tia!

I made mine smooth and I used primer. It was sandable primer which helped fill in the little imperfections.
