I don't want to steal anyone's ideas, which was a great one, by the way. But I am planning on making my own shifter plate because of my fetish with using diamond plate aluminum in spots I haven't seen it. This is all just a rough idea on the shifter plate but I want to give it a try. Tim97RS, if you object to this post, please let me know because I understand and will appologize profusely, I just don't know where else to get this help. What I need to know are dimensions for the cutout hole that the shifter goes through and where exactly where on the plate the cut must be made. If I can get help with this it will be greatly appreciated! I will only be making this for myself so don't ask for one, just try it yourself and let me know how it looks.

you can just measure it yourself. what i did was make a template out of cardboard, cut a hole in it, put it around the shifter so the sides lined up to the contours of the hole in the center console, then went through the shifts and trimmed with scissors until i could go through the full range of shifts without it hitting anywhere. after you get it to where you can go through all the shifts, you can then make it any design you want, square, circle, oval, etc...then transfer that to your metal. give it a try, diamond plate sounds pretty sweet.

i just got through making my own, its made out of a plastic with vinyl lookin stuff on top, cut out a round hole and made an aluminum ring to go around it..looks pretty sweet. but like ^^ said, just measure it and youll be good
