So today this guy changes lanes and doesn't even look. I had time to swerve and move out of the way. However since my Horn buttons are shorted out, I had to use my choice words. If i push the buttons and keep mashing in different spots, the horn will make a peep every now and then. So i know the horn works. How can i fix these horn buttons? Anyone ever done it?

bump
i wanna know too. i'm almost sure the airbags have been set off in my car when someone else owned it. but yea the horn and everything works, jsut not the buttons. if i can't fix it i'm gonna add a separate button somewhere else. there's sooo many people i've needed to blast my horn at lately.

yeah it sucks. I know other people have this problem, i'm just scared to get into my steering column to fix it cause i don't wanna mess with the air bag. I guess you could tap into the horn wire and just add a button somewhere?
But which wire?

My cars never been in an accident or anything, and my horn buttons have been shitty since day one. THe problem is that there are these two buttons, but under them there is only a tiny button that will actually activate the horn. If Im sitting in my driveway i can "feel out" that little button underneath (sp?) and make the horn work every time. But on a road driving I can almost never get it, Twice Ive been cut off and failed to be able to alert the careless driver that I was upset and endangered. Overall...they SUCK (the buttons)

mine were like that an then they got worse. like before they'd semi-work and i could get it if i felt around under the cover thing. now i can almost never get them to work... anyone know if it's the buttons themselves or if the connections along the column tend to go bad or somethin? i know it's not the horn or anything in the engine bay. my alarm is tapped into the relay in the fuse box to activate it along w/ the siren.
